McLaren 720S, Lamborghini Huracan, Ferrari 812 And Ferrari 488 Pista Engage In Battle Royale

Written by admin

Supercars are getting ever faster and the cars featured in this particular clip all offer truly frightening levels of acceleration. However, which of them is the fastest?

To find out, YouTuber 888MF teamed up with BOTB in the UK for a series of drag races. The cars featured are a pair of McLaren 720S’ (one fitted with an aftermarket exhaust), a Ferrari 488 Pista, a Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and a Ferrari 812 Superfast.

Kicking things off is a race between the Lamborghini and the 488 Pista. Thanks to its all-wheel drive system, the Huracan gets off the line quicker but because it has less power, the Ferrari storms past it before the finish line.

In the second race, the victorious 488 Pista lines up against the 812 Superfast and, despite being one tier lower in Ferrari’s hierarchy, the twin-turbocharged V8 488 out-accelerated the V12-powered grand tourer.

Then it was the turn of the McLarens, which lined up alongside each other and the 488 Pista for a battle of supremacy. During both races, the owner of the 720S with the aftermarket exhaust rocketed off the line much quicker than his rivals and came out the victor.

However, things don’t end there as a surprise competitor then joins the party in the form of a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The all-electric super saloon has established itself as one of the most accelerative vehicles on the planet and can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 2.5 seconds. The question is, is that enough to upstage the 720S?

Ferrari 812 Superfast Is An Ode To V12-Powered Supercars

The days of the traditional internal combustion engines are numbered, and electrification and other alternative fuels are the future. When they eventually go out for good, though, the automotive world will look back at some of the most iconic models, like the Ferrari 812 Superfast, which sits at the top of the Prancing Horse’s range.

Succeeding the F12 Berlinetta, it is a two-seater grand tourer with a front mid-engine layout and rear-wheel drive. It has a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 under that very long hood that pumps out 789 HP (800 PS / 588 kW) and 530 lb-ft (718 Nm) of torque. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) is dispatched in just 2.9 seconds, and even though it feels like it can hit warp speed, it will eventually run out of breath at 211 mph (340 km/h), and there are very few places on our planet where one can reach such speeds safely and legally.

It may be billed as a GT, but the 812 Superfast is actually more of a supercar. It certainly has the numbers on its side, aided by the advanced aerodynamics, firm suspension and even rear-wheel steering that makes the wheelbase feel shorter than it actually is. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission features short and fast gear changes and the very sharp steering contributes to the unique experience provided by the car. The safety systems have your back in case you are too overenthusiastic on the controls and can get you out of some very serious situations.

The interior looks just as driver-focused as the exterior, with everything bathed in high-quality materials. The traditional controls are a fingertip away, as most of them can be found on the steering wheel, and even the passenger is included in this magic as they have a secondary screen right in front of them that displays the traveling speed, G-force readout and so on. The comfort part is not neglected either, as it features cup holders, USB ports and smartphone integration.

The 812 Superfast may have a bold name, but it is one bold ride that impressed Rory Reid, who got the chance to drive it shortly after the lockdown in the UK ended. What did he have to say about it? Quite a lot of things, but that’s for you to find out by watching the following video.

DMC’s Ferrari 812 Superfast Looks Like A Scale Model, But It’s An 808 HP Beast

Written by admin

DMC claims to have made a splash a few years ago with a body kit for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Now, with the supercar replaced by the newer 812 Superfast, the German tuner has added it to its portfolio as well.

The most striking upgrade of the pictured example by far is the custom paintjob. It’s called the Starshine Blue, it mixes Modena’s Azzurro with metallic glitter and kind of makes it look like a scale model – at least in the images.

The visual work continues with the new aerodynamic package, which adds a prominent front splitter, new side skirts and boot lid spoiler, and also includes tinted taillights and new wheels, 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, which have replaced the 20-inch OEMs. Although bigger, they are some of the lightest on the market, according to the tuner, which offers them in a variety of shades, shod in 255/30 front and 335/25 rear Pirelli tires.

Rounding up the design of the tuned 812 Superfast are the sport springs, and since we’ve moved on to the technical revisions, it’s worth noting that a titanium exhaust system is also part of the build. This, along with a software remap, allows the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 to pump out 808 HP (820 PS / 603 kW), up from the standard 789 HP (800 PS / 588 kW).

The stock Italian supercar needs only 2.9 seconds to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) and can keep pushing up to 211 mph (340 km/h). DMC didn’t disclose an acceleration time but said that, with their upgrade, the top speed has increased to almost 217 mph (350 km/h).
