The New Bentley Continental GT Speed Will Happily Drift On Demand

Written by admin

Bentley has invited UK media for a first go in their new Continental GT Speed at Silverstone, releasing at the same time all the technical details of the “most dynamic road-going Bentley ever made” and a new image gallery.

In addition to packing more firepower, the new Continental GT Speed is the first to feature a rear-steering system, as well as the first Bentley with a rear electronically-controlled limited-slip differential.

The result, according to Bentley, is not only a more agile super GT but one that can actually drift itself out of a corner. The newly calibrated Sport drive mode limits the available to the front axle to 28 percent and almost shuts off the counter-oversteer torque applied in the Comfort and Bentley drive modes.

In addition, the new Continental GT Speed can be optioned with the largest car brakes in the world, featuring 440 mm carbon discs at the front with giant 10-piston calipers. Bentley says that their latest-generation carbon brakes save 77 lbs (35 kg) of unsprung mass and are exceptionally fade resistant.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find Bentley’s familiar twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, which has been upgraded to 650 HP (659 PS), up from the regular model’s 626 HP (635 PS). Torque remains the same, rated at a colossal 664 lb-ft (900 Nm). Moreover, the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission can change gears in half the time of the standard Conti GT when in Sport mode.

As a result, the new Continental GT Speed can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds) and reach a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h).

2K-Mile 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Is An Exhilarating Drive

Written by admin

Sure, the C6-generation Chevrolet Corvette may not have quite the allure of the mid-engined C8, but in ZR1 guise, it is still a superb value proposition for the performance it provides.

The Corvette ZR1 in question is a 2013 model and while it is almost a decade old, it has only been driven 2,000 miles (3,200 km). The car is listed up for auction through Bring A Trailer and was one of 482 ZR1s built for the 2013 model year and one of just 27 finished in Crystal Red Metallic.

Contrasting the red paint are chrome-finished 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels clad in the original 285/30 and 335/25 Michelin Pilot Sport tires respectively. The car also rocks a carbon fiber hood, roof, fenders, floor panels, side skirts, and front splitter.

A peek inside the cabin reveals Cashmere leather on the center of the seats and across parts of the dashboard and door panels. The ‘Vette also features various black leather components and is equipped with the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group that includes power-adjustable and heated sport seats, a memory package, Bose audio, navigation, Bluetooth, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, and cruise control.

Powering the C6 Corvette ZR1 is a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 pumping out 638 hp and 604 lb-ft (819 Nm) of torque that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Alpha’s New Wolf Electric Pickup Looks Like It Came Back From The Future

Written by admin

The fourth in the company’s growing range of vehicles, the Alpha Wolf is a small electric pickup truck that can handle more than just tiny jobs.

The design, while following the aesthetic details of the brand’s other electric models, also adds a touch of 1980s with its boxy shape and accessories, bringing to mind Marty McFly’s 1985 Toyota SR5 truck.

The little pickup is based on the same platform as the JAX, which you might remember being unveiled in February. Alpha says the Wolf can be equipped with a 75-85 kWh battery pack earning it an estimated 275 miles of range. Motors can either power the front or all wheels.

More to the point, though, despite being 23-inches (584 mm) shorter than a Ford Ranger at 188 inches (4,775mm) long, 76 inches (1,930 mm) wide and 66 inches (1676 mm) tall, Alpha is aiming for a pretty reasonable towing capacity of 3,000 lbs. It can also hit 60 mph from a standing start in just 6.2 seconds.

With just two seats, the pickup’s bed takes up most of its length and is 65-inches (1,651 mm) long by 59-inches (1,498 mm) wide and 16-inches (406 mm) deep. That won’t hold a 4×8 plywood sheet, but it will net you 34.5 cubic feet of storage in the bed’s truck. If you want some more secure storage, there’s a frunk, too.

Images show a large solar panel covering the bed of the truck. Although official details on this feature are frustratingly scant, we can presume that it will help charge the battery a bit while you’re trekking out away from the grid.

Inside, the Wolf looks a lot like Alpha’s other creations. The interior is uncluttered but modern and features a tablet-style infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Alpha promises lots of charging ports for your electronics as well as lots of storage for your belongings.

One of the most affordable electric trucks

Prices will start at just $36,000 running up to $46,000 before you even consider federal EV tax credits. That’s less than the JAX CUV, which is priced between $38,000-$48,000, but more than the standard Ace coupe, which starts at just $32,000. In any case, it’s one of the least expensive electric trucks in the North American market.

As with its other models, Alpha is accepting reservations on the Wolf, though exactly when deliveries are expected to start is a little less clear.

A pristine 1990 Subaru Legacy that has been lovingly cared for was recently purchased by Subaru of America after being listed up for sale on Craigslist.

Shortly after the car found its way online, it was quickly picked up by the guys over at Jalopnik. At first glance, you could be excused for thinking the car has never been driven for it has been so well taken care of. However, it actually has 216,000 miles on the clock which is a testament to how well it has been cared for over the years.

The seller purchased the car 14 months ago and put 2,500 miles on it during his ownership and during this time, invested roughly $6,000 into it in a bid to ensure it drove just like it would have when it was new. Parts that were replaced include the struts, control arms, bushings, brakes, clutch, timing belt, water pump, tires, shifter bushings, and speakers. The car has been garaged its entire life, hence why the paint looks as good as it does.

Speaking about the Legacy with Jalopnik, the seller said that the original owner had the car for 28 years and then donated it to a community college. It is not just the exterior of the car that looks superb but also the interior that is clad in tan-colored materials and certainly gives off those 1990s vibes.

The car was listed for $6,800 and writing on the Craigslist auction after the sale, the owner says he received three solid offers at the asking price but he ultimately decided to sell it to Subaru of America that intend on placing it in their private collection in Camden, New Jersey. In its new home, the car will rest in a climate-controlled environment and only be driven to car shows and other events.

Bespoke Lamborghini Aventador S Gets New Attire From Fashion Designer

Written by admin

Lamborghini is celebrating the opening of ‘The Lounge Tokyo’ in Japan, the second venue after the one in New York featuring a permanent Ad Personam studio for customers to customize their Raging Bulls, with a bespoke Aventador S.

Bearing the signature of renowned fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, the supercar was treated as a blank canvas and takes inspiration from the Paris collection, dressed with selected clothing patterns.

Review: New Lamborghini Aventador S May Not Be The Most Engaging But Who Cares

The one-off Lamborghini Aventador S was created by the Lamborghini Centro Stile, with the blessing of the company’s design chief Mitja Borkert, who met Yamamoto at the Paris Fashion Week in January 2020. This unique Aventador sports different shades of red on the outside, contrasted by the white and black accents. The interior follows a similar route, with the artists’ signature found on the dashboard, central console, door cards, seats, and even on the firewall.

“It has been exciting to have the chance to work with Yohji Yamamoto, the world-renowned fashion icon, who innately understood our significant Lamborghini design DNA”, said Borkert. “Our collaboration inspired this outstanding artwork and design for the Aventador S, which was unveiled today, and celebrates Italian craftsmanship connecting with Japanese culture.”

The unique Aventador S remains untouched beneath the skin, which means that the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine still churns out 730 HP (740 PS / 544 kW) at 8,400 rpm and 507 lb-ft (690 Nm) of torque at 5,500 rpm, driving all four wheels via the 7-speed gearbox. The stock exotic takes 2.9 seconds to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) and maxes out at 217 mph (350 km/h).

Get This 2.5k-Mile 2009 Cadillac XLR-V And Stand Out From The Crowd

Written by admin

It’s definitely not everyday you get to own a luxury roadster that was only in production for six years and then put to rest with no successor.

While some might give that story a bit of a negative spin, keep in mind that, in 2004, the XLR was named North American Car of the Year and that this V model was priced at more than $100,000 when it first went on sale in 2006. At the time, it was one of GM’s most expensive cars.

This example, getting auctioned off through Bring a Trailer, is a 2009 model with just 2,581 miles (4,153 km) on its odo. The fact that they still sell for a lot of money as used goes to show that the XLR-V could one day become a valuable collectible.

The exterior of this car is finished in Black Raven, boasting HID headlights with washers, chrome-mesh upper and lower grilles, and quad exhaust pipes to go with 19-inch 10-spoke wheels with drilled rotors and gun metal-finish calipers. The likes of the Magnetic Ride Control system, StabiliTrak system and traction control were all standard.

Inside, there are Ebony leather seats with suede inserts, an Alcantara headliner, black olive ash and Bermuda metal accents throughout, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus features like keyless entry, push-button start, DVD sat-nav, heated seats, head-up display, dual zone climate control and a Bose speaker system.

As for the performance, the supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8 churns out 443 HP and 414 lb-ft (561 Nm) of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The XLR-V can hit 60 mph (100 km/h) in about four and a half seconds, which isn’t bad at all.
