16-Year-Old Allegedly Rolling Coal In Ford Pickup Hits Multiple Cyclists In Texas

Written by admin

A 16-year-old driver of a Ford F-Series pickup truck is under investigation after striking six cyclists in Waller County, Texas while allegedly trying to roll coal.

Click 2 Houston reports that the accident happened just after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, September 25. A group of cyclists were traveling along U.S. Route 290 at the time while training for a local Ironman event.

Chase Ferrell was traveling behind the group of cyclists and told local media that the driver of the pickup was rolling coal across the cyclists, repeatedly accelerating and braking to blow black soot from the truck’s exhausts across the group.

“A kid in a black truck attempted to ‘roll coal’ us where they accelerate past blowing diesel exhaust on cyclists,” Ferrell said. “It made me mad, so I accelerated to try to catch up to him, so I could take a picture of his truck, take a picture of him or his license plate or something.”

Soon after, Ferrell says the 16-year-old driver of the Ford hit six of the cyclists. While the cyclists were treated at a local hospital and released, some of them suffered shoulder, back, and neck injuries and are expected to require follow-up surgeries.

“When I pulled up on the scene, I thought I was going to be pulling up to people that were dead,” Ferrell said. “It’s senseless. It doesn’t make any sense for anybody to do that to any cyclist… it’s pointless.”

Click 2 Houston states that the 16-year-old driver spoke to officers on the scene but was not arrested. Local police have confirmed this is indeed the case, stating that the accident is still under investigation.

No, You’re Aren’t Seeing Double; This Is An Extra Wide 1994 Ram 3500

This is a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 but do you notice something a little different with it? Well, this 3500 has been widened by a foot, making an already big and imposing pickup truck even more massive.

The bizarre truck is currently up for sale on Craigslist in Spokane Valley, Washington and according to the seller, more than 1,400 hours of work were put into it. The listing doesn’t detail how the 3500 was widened but we can’t imagine it was particularly easy.

The extra width is immediately obvious from the front end where the grilles of the truck are much wider than standard. A two-piece windshield has also been fitted and located directly behind the cabin is a truly big bed, likely larger than any other pickup currently on sale.

Various interior modifications have also been made. For example, there is now an absolutely massive center console wrapped in leather. The cabin has also been equipped with a TV screen in the rear.

In terms of mechanicals, the truck is powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins diesel V8 coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the truck has a solid front axle with link-coil suspension, a solid rear axle with longitudinal leaf springs, a stainless steel exhaust system, front stabilizer bar, heavy-duty shocks, and a 35-gallon fuel tank.

The truck has been listed for $31,999. That’s quite a lot of money, but isn’t entirely unreasonable given all the work performed on the vehicle.

Hennessey’s Mammoth 900 TRX Sends 728 HP To The Rear Wheels

Written by admin

No matter how powerful and fast a vehicle may be from the factory, it will never be enough for the folks from Hennessy Performance. Case in point, the tuner’s 2021 Ram 1500 TRX-based Mammoth 900.

As standard, the 1500 TRX comes outfitted with a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 pumping out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. Not only does this make the TRX the most powerful pickup of its kind, but it also means the truck can out-accelerate some very impressive sports cars.

In tuning the truck Hennessey has equipped it with a lower pulley and upper pulley upgrade, fitted a ported supercharger snout, high-flow fuel injectors, high-flow air induction system and crank-case ventilation system, and tweaked the ECU. On paper, these modifications result in 912 hp and 873 lb-ft (1,184 Nm) of torque at the crank. Translated to the wheels, this results in 728 hp and 679 lb-ft (921 Nm).

For those after even more performance, Hennessey offers a Mammoth 1000 upgrade package that delivers 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft (1,314 Nm) of torque and sports a new supercharger, stainless steel headers, and a high-flow exhaust, in addition to the upgrades of the Mammoth 900.

As impressive as all that sounds, Hennessey won’t stop there. In fact, it is creating a 6×6 version of the Ram 1500 TRX complete with Mopar’s 7.0-liter Hellephant V8 crate engine tweaked to produce 1,200 hp.
