Who Buys A Pair Of 1979 Lincoln Continentals And Keeps Them With Delivery Mileage For 42 Years?

Written by admin

We always love to see a good story of a regular everyday car that has been incredibly well-preserved. And with this pair of Lincoln Continentals, that’s exactly the case.

Listed for sale on Mecum Auctions, this matching set of two- and four-door 1979 Continentals have, essentially, delivery miles. The Mark V has 10 miles on its odo, and the Town Car sedan just 7!

Santa’s Sleigh Is A 1990 Morgan 4/4 And He’s Looking To Sell It

Written by admin

With Christmas just around the corner, Santa Claus is looking to upgrade his trusty old sleigh, but before getting a new ride to help him on the busiest night of the year, he has to sell the current one: a 1990 Morgan 4/4.

Dressed in festive attire, the 30-year old British sports car is finished in Corsa Red, rides on multi-spoke wheels and is adorned with chrome accents. The stone leather interior with walnut dashboard presents itself in decent shape, though there may be some reindeer fur in some of the creases.

With Rudolph the red nose reindeer leading the pack, the air miles have not affected the car’s health, as AutoTrader jokingly claims in the ad. As for the road miles, the odo shows 25,394 (40,868 km), which means that the 1.6-liter engine with double Webber carburetors, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission, still has a lot of life left in it.

The car also has a valid MOT until August 20, 2021, so its future owner won’t have many things to do but sign their name on the dotted line, transfer the sum and turn the key in the ignition. So, how much is it? That would be £24,000, or $32,100 at today’s exchange rates.

Get This 2.5k-Mile 2009 Cadillac XLR-V And Stand Out From The Crowd

Written by admin

It’s definitely not everyday you get to own a luxury roadster that was only in production for six years and then put to rest with no successor.

While some might give that story a bit of a negative spin, keep in mind that, in 2004, the XLR was named North American Car of the Year and that this V model was priced at more than $100,000 when it first went on sale in 2006. At the time, it was one of GM’s most expensive cars.

This example, getting auctioned off through Bring a Trailer, is a 2009 model with just 2,581 miles (4,153 km) on its odo. The fact that they still sell for a lot of money as used goes to show that the XLR-V could one day become a valuable collectible.

The exterior of this car is finished in Black Raven, boasting HID headlights with washers, chrome-mesh upper and lower grilles, and quad exhaust pipes to go with 19-inch 10-spoke wheels with drilled rotors and gun metal-finish calipers. The likes of the Magnetic Ride Control system, StabiliTrak system and traction control were all standard.

Inside, there are Ebony leather seats with suede inserts, an Alcantara headliner, black olive ash and Bermuda metal accents throughout, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus features like keyless entry, push-button start, DVD sat-nav, heated seats, head-up display, dual zone climate control and a Bose speaker system.

As for the performance, the supercharged 4.4-liter Northstar V8 churns out 443 HP and 414 lb-ft (561 Nm) of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The XLR-V can hit 60 mph (100 km/h) in about four and a half seconds, which isn’t bad at all.

You Can Buy A James Bond-Inspired Land Rover Defender Once Owned By The Turkish Military

Written by admin

A Land Rover Defender with a very interesting history is currently up for auction and looks ready to tackle even the most treacherous terrain.

This 1993 Defender was delivered new to the Turkish military before being acquired by its first private owner in 2003. The seller purchased the vehicle in June 2019 and set about comprehensively modifying it to mimic the Defenders used in the James Bond Spectre blockbuster.

Consequently, the off-roader is painted in Santorini Black and has been equipped with fender flares, an aftermarket front bumper with an integrated winch, a KBX grille, roof rack with auxiliary lighting, smoked taillights and LED headlights. It also features a rope draped over the hood, much like the Defenders used in Spectre.

The customized Defender also sports 16-inch black steel wheels with 37-inch Maxxi Crawler tires, has been raised four-inches with modified suspension components, and has a cage over the bed.

Further modifications have been done inside. For example, there are black leather sport seats with red piping, the headliner and carpets have been replaced and a new air conditioning system, Webasto heater, and MDX double-din touchscreen have been installed along with a heated windshield.

Powering the off-roader is a 3.5-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission that recently had the clutch replaced.

The Bring A Trailer listing reveals the Defender was imported into the United States in February 2020 and has 114,000 km (~69,000 miles) on the clock. It is being sold at no reserve with a clean New Jersey title and the auction ends in two days.

This Acura NSX-Based Faux-errari Is A Driveable Faux Pas

Written by admin

Faux-erraris are a dime a dozen, but they’re usually based on models such as the Pontiac Fiero.

That’s not the case with this LaFerrari knockoff as it’s actually a 1992 Acura NSX in disguise.

Dubbed the Venenza, the car has been given an extensive makeover as its virtually unrecognizable as an NSX. The front end is all-new and features a wide air intake, Ferrari-esque headlights and a ventilated hood.

Further back, there are scissor doors and revised bodywork. The model also features some ghastly wheels and a rather unconvincing recreation of the LaFerrari’s rear end.

On the bright side, the interior is relatively stock and appears to be in good condition. The only notable exception is the glorified sticker on the steering wheel.

The listing is light on specifics, but it says the transformation took four years to complete. It also noted the car has 75,000 miles (120,700 km) on the odometer and is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces approximately 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS).

That seems to suggest the stock powertrain carries over as the 1992 Acura NSX was equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 that produced 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS) and 210 lb-ft (284 Nm) of torque when connected to a five-speed manual transmission.

The car has a buy it now price of $110,000 (£84,177/ €93,638) and the seller says they have “driven many of the exotic car replicas and lame (sic) away with one conclusion, they were mainly all show and no go.” They go on to note this car is “different” as the “driver sensation is fabulous” and the “exhaust sounds F1ish.”
